Abstract :

One of the effective methods in the pro-cess of learning a second-language is to make a comparative analysis between the first and se-cond languages. So, the learning a second-language will be easier. But, the most im-portant condition to achieve the desirable success is in full and successfully completed first language education. Otherwise, an individual who has got first language education insuffi-ciently, it is not possible to learn second language exactly.In Russian, gender discrimination has got between words and due to the lack of such a rule in Turkish leads to confusion for Turkish students.In Russian affix is added to words in ac-cordance with the genitive and locative cases and so their suffix changes. In these cases of noun not only the names but also adjectives that characterize them and pronouns that are used instead of the names are inflected. Verbs and prepositions are categorized according to these states.In this study the genitive and locative cas-es in Turkish and Russian have been compar-atively analyzed, and the similarities and distinctions have been addressed. Within this regard, while similar grammatical structures in both languages facilitate learning of language, different grammatical structures complicate and thus prolong the education process.
