Abstract :
In this article, firstly it is given infor-mation about the life and works of Şakir Selim, who is one of the most important artists of the Crimean Tatar Turk, and then the literary personality of the artist is empha-sized.In Şakir Selim s poems, it is possible to encounter almost every subject, ranging from the history of the Crimean Turk to their daily life. In this sense, the works of Şakir Selim tell fairly the feelings of the Crimean Tatar.Şakir Selim, who experienced the exile that inflicted a deep wound in the hearts of the Crimean Tatar when he was just two years old, never acted selfishly, and brought we-feeling forward in his poems.The artist who suffered torment and had troubles in certain periods of his life is of course a realist. He always views the events from this standpoint.It is important to be a people and avoid-ing the wannabe for Şakir Selim, like every conscious Turkish artist. The poet issues at every turn a call for ‘be yourself’.In this study, all these points about the literary personality of the poet are men-tioned, and the literary personality of Şakir Selim is presented to the attentions with the rich content of examples that have been chosen from his works.
