Abstract :
Born in Akçataş (Zanzak) village of Hora-san district of Erzurum in 1903 and died in Istanbul on 01.01.1969 Mümtaz Turhan (made scientific studies) has been great services in the Turkish national culture.He is one of the most prominent names in the XX. century of Turkish intellectual history. He is the first Turkish psychologist in experimental (experimental) psychology in the Western sense. Scientific fame has transcend-ed the borders of the country, efforts were made as a seminar topic in European and American universities. He wants education to be addressed as a whole from primary school to university. According to him, at education system if it does not have a good primary school, it would not take place a good sec-ondary and higher education. He sees science as a guide to development. He wants everyone to take advantage from the light of science. He stated that the main duty of scientists to guide the public, and he desires proliferation of scientists who armed with information, principled, personality, hardworking, produc-tive.Mümtaz Turhan who is subject to our article, left deep traces the life of the Turkish ideas, not compromise principles and person-ality, can guide the people, a figure that to be taken as a sample. Our research is about his studies and services.
