Ümîdü’l-Müznibîn by Sinanoğlu and the Affects of Vesîletü’n-Necât on the Work
Abstract :
Mevlit is known as mesnevi in which theincidents of the Prophet Mohammed’s birth, ascension, hejira and death are narrated. It’s a genre that’s fondly read in Turkish literature. Although several writers have produced works in this genre, the most known of them is Suleyman Celebi’s Vesîletü’n-Necâtthat’s called people as Mevlit as well. Since the time it was written Vesîletü’n-Necât has be come influential on many other works of this genre written after it. One of these works is Ümîdü’l- Müznibîn. Ümîdü’l-Müznibîn is a work written by Sinanoğlu in 883/1478 in the genre of mevlit. There is not enough information about the author of the work. The language of it is simple, clear and plain. It represents the peculiarities of the Old Anatolian Turkish from the aspect of the words used. The work has many copies most of which are in National Library. The fact that it has many copies suggests that it was popular among the people. The affects of Vesîletü’n-Necât by Suleyman Celebi are felt in some couplets. The purpose of this study is to introduce Ümîdü’l- Müznibîn and to determine the affects of Vesîletü’n-Necât on the work.
