The Program of Tevfik Paşa Cabinet and its Debate in the Ottoman Parliament
Abstract :
Upon the resignation of the Izzet Pasha Government, Tevfik Pasha Government which was established on November 11, 1918, took office. Tevfik Pasha is an old and experienced politician who worked also in bureaucracy. This is the first government that was established after the Armistice of Mondros. The new cabinet was formed from old and experienced politicians who opposed to the Union And Progress Party.The government s program was discussed at the Ottoman Parliament on November, 18, 1918 and a day after Government took the vote of confidence. When the goverment program was being presented to the parliament, there occured serious and important discussions on the issue. This government which began his work at a very troubled term had faced significant problems in domestic and foreign policy. Tevfik Pasha Cabinet was in power only for a limited period. So could not achieve a considerable work.
