Abstract
This study aims to introduce the data belonging to socio - economic structures according to “Temettuat Defterleri” (Tax Recordings) in 1844 - 1845 of the certain villages of Çine District. We will examine neighbor villages such as Çaltı, Tatarmemişler and Elderesi which we believe reflecting the general state of Çine District and whose land is not so different from one another. In addition, by believing that it will reflect the Turkish Culture, we will examine the names of families and individuals in the Tax Recordings of the villages. In the Tax Recordings comprising our main source, we realize that, contrary to expectations, those villages engage generally in agriculture, not in animal farming. The profit obtained from animal farming is much lower than the profit obtained from agriculture, which is the greatest indicator of the situation above.
