ON NON-STANDARD FIRST PERSON PLURALITY SUFFIXES USED IN OLD ANATOLIAN TURKISH

Numerous Turkish works were written in fields such as literature, medicine, history, geography and religion during the period of Old Anatolian Turkish. Important linguistic studies were conducted on these works and they are still being carried out. However, it is obvious that there are various different topics that need to be handled. One of these topics concerns non-standard uses of 1st person plurality suffixes in works belonging to the period in question. Concrete examples of non-standard uses involve {-lüm} and {-z}, which were created especially due to the aruz meter; {-ḳ} and {-yüz}, which were created due to rhyme and used in the subjunctive mood; {-alıḳ}, {-AlUŋ}, {-eliŋ}, {-biz} and {-ük} forms, which were reflected in the works as a dialectal feature. In particular, the fact that these uses need identification and evaluation is noteworthy in terms of the topic under investigation. In this study, evaluations that were made with regard to the forms {-alıḳ}, {-AlUŋ}, {-eliŋ}, {-biz}, {-ḳ}, {-lüm}, {-ük}, {-yüz} and {-z} were presented to the attention of those interested and it was emphasized that forms, which are non-standard forms, should not be generalized to the whole of the Old Anatolian Turkish and should be dealt with separately from standard uses.
