Abstract :
The purpose of the literature education is not only gaining literature instructions but also acquiring artistic and aesthetic pleasure. Literature education curriculum need to be prepared appropriate to the aims of the lesson to create an effective learning environment. In this research, literature education programmes were investigated to reveal and understand the historical development of them in Azerbaijan schools. The aim of the study is to determine similar and different sides of the litearuture education programmes in between the Soviet periods and current programmes in Azerbaijan schools. The research reveals that literature education in Azerbaijan schools should be evaluated and developed with a contemporary approach.
