Abstract
Frances’s policy towards Armenians in Ottoman Empire made reflections on French companies and financiers. An important part of French companies operating in the Ottoman Empire adopted this policy mutually on a voluntary basis, then Armenians were a major clan in the Ottoman trade. This situation was considered as a good opportunity by the steam shipping companies. The subject of our study Nicolas Paquet Shipping Company established close and tight relations in economic, political, social and cultural ranges with Armenians during the period in which they operates in the Black Sea Ports between 1878-1914. During the Armenian rebellion the company’s poicy was to support Ottoman Armenians directly and indirectly. In this study the policy of N. Paquet Steamboat Shipping Company towards Ottoman Armenians has been tried to analyze.
