After the disintegration of the Soviet Union, the newly-established Turkic Republics and the Republic of Turkey achieved cooperation in a large number of areas, and as a natural result of this cooperation, a set of organizations and institutions were established. The International Turkic Academy was established on May 25, 2010 in Astana, the capital city of Kazakhstan, under the leadership and auspices of Nursultan NAZARBAYEV, the President of Kazakhstan, to serve as a scientific research center within the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Academy was granted its present status by the resolution adopted at the Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States held on August 23, 2012 in Bishkek. The paper first attempts to introduce the purpose of establishment, organizational structure and scope of activities of the International Turkic Academy, and the studies carried out so far. It later presents information about the book entitled Altay Cumhuriyeti’ndeki Eski Türk Yazıtları Albümü (Album of the Old Turkish Inscriptions in the Altai Republic) among the publications of the International Turkic Academy and about the authors of the book.
