Abstract :
Political, commercial, military, social and cultural relationships were established in a short time between the Republic of Turkey and the Kyrgyz Republic which declared independence in 1991. The most important of these relationships were built up in education. Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University was established on September 30, 1995 in order to crown relations between the two brotherly and friendly states within the framework of education and culture agreements signed in Izmir, and it started teaching in the 1997-1998 academic year. It has been 20 years since the establishment of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University which has become the rising star of the Asian region with its physical structure, academic quality, and scientific and academic activities. Thousands of students have so far graduated from the University which incorporates 9 faculties, 3 colleges, 2 institutes, and 5 research and application centers. Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University at which around 5000 students today study is a university where scientific and academic activities, and research and studies in the field of language, history, and archeology have been undertaken in addition to educational activities. To this end, a museum (Archaeology-Museum of Ethnography Laboratory Museum) was created at the university; and a number of materials discovered as a result of surface explorations and excavations conducted by academicians and students were brought to this museum. The present paper first introduces Kyrgyz-Manas University and later provides information on former Turkish culture and civilization works at the University.
