Abstract :
Denis Diderot, one of the predominant thinkers of the Enlightenment, sees fiction as a powerful weapon that writing in social progress. Besides Encyclopedia is a huge source of knowledge to which he has contributed significantly, we must also list his novels philosophical dimension. Religious filled with pathetic paintings, is the story of the struggle for the freedom of a girl locked up in a convent. Diderot presents him as the counterpart of Jacques the Fatalist is the joyful adventure of the two men on a journey telling stories rather nimble. It is known that prompting Denis Diderot to write this novel is that it knows the stifling air that prevailed in the Church and very especially in convents and that the tragic history actually experienced by a nun who bore the same name as the heroine of this novel was published. The main axis of the plot of the novel focuses on private religious freedom of living in a cloister. This novel tells the nuns who do not prevent from falling into the clutches of violence, aggression, hatred and every perversion despite their sacrifice in the process of divine charity. This research aims to show the assiduous freedom struggle of a young girl who finds himself unwittingly in this environment.
