Baudelaire as the Founder of Modern Occidental Poetry and Criticism
Abstract :
This article aims to portray the modernity of Baudelaire who is accepted as the founder of modern occidental poetry. For his portrayal, the notion of criticism is fundamental. According to Baudelaire, criticism does not look at poetry from the outside but constructs it from the inside. In addition, challenging modernity itself and criticizing it constitutes a crucial dynamic element in the construction of modern poetry. But in this criticism, the subject is transformed together with the object allowing modernity to interact with modern poetry.
