    Introducing Intercultural Approach In Foreign Language Teaching-Learning At Exolingual Milieu

  • Abstract
    This article underlines the appropriate vision and basis to introduce interculturality teaching in foreign language teaching-learning process at exolingual academic milieu. In situ conditions of French language and literature department at Adnan Menderes University in Turkey are considered. The principal problems are concerned with exolingual milieu such as monolingual teaching environment, linguistic insecurity, representations, non-use of digital tools, lack of authentic documents and the role of textbooks. Classroom observations, teaching practices, textbooks and scientific researches are consulted. The methodology is descriptive. Results show that it is essential to satisfy the educational needs related to language teaching in order to prepare an adequate basis for intercultural teaching. Finally, it is necessary to adopt a particular perspective to promote an acquisitional outbreak regarding the target language. This fact will arouse our learners’ intellectual curiosity and will develop their critical/analytic mind.
