Abstract :
The Republic of Turkey organized activities with the aim of increasing public awareness level and encouraging families have many children for increasing of population and growth of ideal generation. One of the activities in this period was Robust Child Contests supported by Turkey Child Protection Society. These contests, which gave important messages about child to Turkish society and attend the families from an every part of society in the 1920s and 1930s, were shown robust and healthy child examples for society. Infant and child mortalities in Turkey had a high rate because of economic, social, cultural and sanitary problems. In this subject, robust child examples published Robust Turkish Child Magazine contributed to solve the population issue of Turkey and to raise social consciousness fighting with infant and child mortality. According to society’s needs, these enjoyable contests continued in Turkey for many years.
