Abstract
One of the main progress plans in the republic period was the opening of community centres. Imminent precautions were taken to increase the lifestandards of citizens to the level of modern civilisations or even higher and to accelerate the development and spread of national unity. Community centres were one of them. Community centres were opened in the districts of Kars. Community centre in Iğdır consisted of four branches: “Spor, Köycülük, Sosyal yardım, Kütüphane ve Neşriyat”. Both the budget and activity reports of the community centre in Iğdır were transferred to the general secreteriat of CHP through the community centre in Kars. Community centre in Iğdır tried to be affective in the region in accordance with the aims determined.
