Abstract :
This research was implemented in order to determine the effects of calcium and boron applications from soil or leaf in recovering of post harvest physiological disorders and some fruit quality characteristics of quince in Sakarya location (Pamukova and Geyve Towns) during 2001 – 2002. The experiment was conducted in randomized plots experimental design with 4 treatments. 200 gram boraks (Na2B4O7.10H2O) was applied to the soil for per tree 0,3 % boraks and 0,6 % calcium chlorur were applied from the leaves. Boron applications both from soil and leaf , and calcium applications from the leaves increased the fruit calcium content. On the other hand, some quality characteristics of the quince fruits were investigated. The treatments had no effects on the firmness, titratable acidity, total soluble solids content and pH of the fruits. The results were, for firmens 11.20 – 21.00 lb, for total soluble solids content 11.90 – 22.80 %, for pH 3.08 – 4.15, for titratable acidity 3,35 – 10.18 mg/ml
