Abstract :
This study was carried out to determine the effects of different levels of potassium and iron applications on iron, chlorophyll contents and dry weight of tomato plants grown in perlite medium. Three different combinations of potassium (150, 300 and 450 mg kg^-1) and iron (1, 2 and 3 mg kg^-1) ratios were evaluated. The experiment was conducted according to completely randomized factorial design with 4 replicates. The total Fe, active Fe, total chlorophyll, chlorophyll a and b contents of leaf samples were affected by Fe applications; dry matter weight was affected statistically by interactive effect between K and Fe. According to the results tomato leaf total Fe, active Fe and chlorophyll contents were increased by Fe applications. Potassium applications did not affect plant iron nutrition. Increasing potassium and iron applications increased dry matter weight of tomato.
