Title Of Article :
Diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal manifestations of lupus
Abstract :
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a non-organ-specific autoimmune disease. Its clinical manifestations are highly polymorphic. Articular manifestations inaugurate lupus disease in 50% of cases, some musculoskeletal disorders reflect the disease activity and others are generally the side effects of treatment.A better knowledge of the pathophysiology of lupus allows the development of specific therapeutic targets. Treatment of joint disease is usually based on non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, corticosteroids and synthetic anti-palludae.The goal of treatment of SLE involves reducing pain, preserving function and increasing the quality of life while limiting side effects.
