Abstract :
Shoulder osteoarthritis represents 3% of all arthrosis. The causes of shoulder osteoarthritis are divided into primary with no specific cause, which is more prevalent and secondary osteoarthritis with a known cause or predisposing factor. Shoulder osteoarthritis can causes severe pain and major functional discomfort. The management of shoulder osteoarthritis consists of conventional treatments for osteoarthritis. Surgical treatment involves conservative surgery and total anatomic or inverted shoulder arthroplasty. When conservative treatment has failed, and prosthetic surgery is not feasible, intra-articular therapies should be discussed especially hyaluronic acid infiltration. This treatment is a safe and effective option for the treatment of shoulder osteoarthritis especially in the relatively young patient. The use of ultrasonographique guidance allows to optimizing injection and improve results.
