PHENOMENES D’ELISIONS A GAUCHE ET A DROITE EN ABRON : LANGUE KWA DE COTE D’IVOIRE
Abstract :
Kwa languages are subject to morphophonological phenomena. Thus, those of Côte d Ivoire are no exception. The abron one of them, presents various morphophonological changes whose elisions motivated by the association of different categories. Two types of elision can be, because of proximity between two lexemes: the elision on the left, touching the vowel core of the first lexeme and the elision on the right on a segment sheltered by the second. These different phenomena operate according to the various rules that depend on the characteristic of the combined lexeme structures. Thus, the association of CV and VCV structures not in a derivation context resulted in an elision on the left. The second type of elision, ie the elision on the right, is found precisely the third person pronoun of the singular (nɩ ́), the predicative (nɩ ́), and the initial vowel of the suffix (àdɩ̀ɛ́).
