Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to investigate whether psychological resilience levels of married individuals vary in terms of some socio-demographic variables including gender, age, educational level of the person and the spouse, employment status of the person and the spouse, and perceptions of economic wellbeing. The sample of this study consists of 835 (485 women, 350 male) married individuals who live in İzmir Metropolitan Municipality. “Resilience Scale for Adults” and a personal information form were used for data collection purposes. The data were analyzed through independent sample t-tests, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and eta squared statistics. The findings demonstrate that there is no statistically significant difference in married individuals’ psychological resilience levels in terms of gender, age, and employment status of the person and the spouse. On the other hand, a significant difference was discerned among psychological resilience scores of the married individuals in terms of education and spouse’s education, as well as perceptions of economic wellbeing
