Abstract :
The necessity of sustainable use of natural resources is getting increasingly important for a livable world day by day. In this context, the countries have begun to take more decisive steps towards the creation of low-carbon economies for sustainable development. The flexibility mechanisms developed within the scope of The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Kyoto Protocol in order to enable sustainable development and prevent the harmful effects of greenhouse gas emissions that cause human-based global climate change, come into prominence as an efficient instrument in the carbon finance. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the importance of the subject through the examination the carbon markets that emerged on the basis of the emission trade and the situation of Turkey.
