Abstract :
This study attempts to identify the social status and the societal significance of women with a view to rules of law based on provisions related to women in the specific context of Hammurabi Law and Torah. In addition, any similarities and differences between two communities are investigated in terms of legal structure and perceptions of women using comparative method and through data presented by these two historical sources.
