Abstract
Meat production in Turkey in 2008 was recorded as 1.603.000 tons. Livestock sector that producing such amount of animal products has a lot of special problems is still waiting solutions. For example, productivity in animal production is insufficient. Because of high input prices many producers are gradually leaving the animal production. The export chance of animal products is still low, but importation of animal products is gradually rising. The main purposes of this article were to reveal the present situation of the livestock production in Turkey, to determine the problems and to produce proper solution proposals.
