Title Of Article :
Volume Estimation of The Kidneys By Stereological Methods
Abstract :
In this study we aimed to estimate the volume of the kidneys on six Pirlak sheeps; three of them right and three of them left kidneys volume was calculated by stereological method, Cavalieri Principles. The mean volume of the kidneys was found as mean 77 cm³ (CE=0.03) by using Cavalieri Principles, and volume ratios of the cortex, medulla and pelvis are 62%, 34% and 4%, respectively. Our results showed that using the Cavalieri Principle is simple and unbiased and it is the method that can calculate the ratios between the regions of the kidney.
