Abstract :
Soil salinity is one of the important problems which decreased to plantbiodiversity and agricultural productivity in Turkey just as in the world. In Arid and semiarid areas, insufficient precipitation, high evaporation, insufficient drainage, agricultural applications and soil properties are main factors of salinity and large areas are affected from salinity. Iğdır plain is located semiarid zone and 1/3 of its existing utilizable areas are effected from salinization and agricultural activity can only engaged in agriculture on 24.194 ha. Today, there are no new areas for opening agricultural production, on the other hand food necessity is exponentially increasing. For this reason, it is exceedingly important that the available agricultural areas are used more efficiently and salty areas are reclaimed. Human factor together with physical, chemical and biological applications which are used to be reclaimed of desertification soils forms a basis the management of these soils. It have been conducted many studies with this subject in the world and have been gotten important results. That forages are especially used in bio-reclamation studies provide both the improvement of salt affected soils and the quality-roughage production.
