Abstract :
In this study, milk yield and reproductive traits of 1332 Holstein cows which have been raised at Tahirova State Farm were investigated. This study included milk and reproduction records between 1987-2006. In the study, the least squares means for actual milk yield, 305-day milk yield, lactation period and dry period were 6425,0±32,1 kg, 6055,0±27,3 kg, 319,4±0,96 day and 84,8±0,84 day, respectively. While the year, lactation number and season had significant effect (P 0,05) on the actual milk yield, 305-day milk yield and lactation length, year of calving and lactation number had significant (P 0,05) effect on the dry period. The least squares means for calving interval, service period, gestation length, number of service per conception, first breeding age and first calving age were 403,9±1,27 day, 135,0±2,01 day, 279,2±0,13 day, 1,59±0,00, 516,6±1,88 day and 808,1±2,32 day, respectively. The effects of year of calving, calving season and calving number on calving interval, service period, number of service per conception were significant (P 0,05). Year of calving and calving number had significant (P 0,05) effect on the gestation length. While the effects of seasons on first breeding age and first calving age were found to be insignificant, the factor of years had significant (P 0,05) effect on the age of first breeding and first calving ages.
