DETERMINATION OF THE FUNDAMENTAL AND ASTROPHYSICAL PARAMETERS FOR BERKELEY 51 CLUSTER
Abstract :
Fundamental astrophysical and structural parameters have been derived for Berkeley 51 which is located in the first Galactic quadrant and one of the open cluster was poorly studied before, by using CCD UBV(RI)C and 2MASS JHKS data. CCD UBV(RI)C photometric data of the cluster have been observed with the 84 cm telescope at the San Pedro Martir National Astronomical Observatory in Mexico. To determine the cluster membership PPMXL catalogue have been used. According to this, the limit radius is found to be Rlim=2.5 arc minutes, reddening as E(B-V)=0.85±0.05 and E(J-H)=0.28±0.02 magnitude, the distance modulus as DM=(m-M)0=10.66±0.04 pc, distance as d=1355±27 pc and logaritmic age as log(A)=9.54±0.03 Myr for this cluster. The metallicity and heavy element abundances of this cluster have been determined for the first time as [Fe/H]=-0.38 and Z=0.006, respectively.
