Abstract :
The hearth concept having an important place within the Turkish public belief expresses holiness among the Central Asian Societies and cultures. The hearth with connotations such as the family, the most precious formation within the society, embedded many other meanings throughout history. The cults of fire and hearth, inseparable from each other, has incorporated many important connotations to the already rich meaning with the migration of the people from the Central Asia to Anatolia, also named as Asia Minor. The major role in the transportation and dispersion of these concepts to Anatolia doubtlessly has the Mongolian invasion and the Mongolians themselves. The focus of our study is primarily on the place and importance of the fire and hearth cult in the Mongolians, the meanings attributed to these terms attributed, holiness throughout history and on the Mongolian practices regarding religion, social, and political life. Later on the effect of the Mongolian Invasion and the Mongolians in the transfer of these concepts to Anatolia will be dealt. The invasion of the Mongolians of the Islamic world and as a result of this the Ilkhanid Empire hegemony established in Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Anatolia and their role in the dispersion of the fire and hearth concepts and their role in the acquisition of new meanings in Anatolia due to their support of particular religious and sufic groups together with the effect of the religious policies they practiced in Anatolia with a lasting effect until today will be shown.
