Architectural Design Process in Creativity and Cultural Schema Context

Abstract
Creativity has broad meanings in various fields. Concept can be described sometimes as a process, sometimes product and sometimes personality. Creativity, in the light of architectural design process, is described as revealing of necessary problems in an undefined area and finding solution pursuant to cognitive mechanisms. In this process designers cultural schema have an important role. Cultural schema emerges from codification of one’s cultural variables (normative concept and meanings) with thinking process (cognitive schema) and represents whole system of design process. In the light of these, this study covers investigation of interaction between cultural schema and creative cognitive design process. Furthermore the aim of this study is reinterpretation of design process in the context of creativity and cultural schema in the frame of cognitive approach.
