Title Of Article :
Effect of Twist on Strength for Polyester Yarns Produced from Filaments Having Different Cross Sectional Shapes
Abstract :
In this research, 24 types polyester yarn were produced in six different twist levels from filaments which had four different cross-sectional shapes. Tensile strength and breaking elongation of these 24 yarns were evaluated according to six twist levels. Statistical evaluations of the results showed that yarn twists have statistically important effect on tenacity and breaking elongation of all yarns. Also high regression coefficients were obtained between yarn properties and yarn twists. As tenacity results of untwisted yarns were considered, it was observed that values of yarns which were produced from hollow filaments decreased at a lower extent than that of the yarns produced from full filaments. Breaking elongation of yarns which were produced from hollow filaments showed higher changes than that of yarns produced from full filaments when compared to untwisted form.
