Abstract :
For sustainable development it is necessary to use native and renewable energy sources. Base on the measurements of General Directorate of Renewable Energy Administration (YEGM), daily mean solar irradiation in Turkey is 3600 Wh/m^2 and our country has a considerable solar energy potential. In this study theoretic modeling of solar powered beta type Stirling engine with linear crank mechanism was performed. The model was combined with the solar irradiation subsystem which is used to compute the solar irradiations on horizontal, vertical and inclined surfaces for different locations and directions and for any time of the year. Efficiency frequency and power of the Stirling engine and the thermodynamic properties of working fluid were predicted by the developed model.
