Abstract :
In this paper, the analytical solutions of the differential equations of a curvilinear motion of a particle of mass “m” in polar coordinate system were developed. The coupled solutions of the non-linear and inhomogeneous differential equations were obtained analytically for different cases. On the other hand, the analytical solutions were compared to the numerical results obtained by using MATLAB software package and the results were good agreement with the numerical data. The solution functions obtained from the analytical methods were also applied for sample problems on engineering mechanics.
