Investigation of the Changes in Reflectance Properties of Warp and Weft Yarns Before and After Weaving of Some Polyester Woven Fabrics
Abstract :
The reflectance properties of warp and weft yarns before and after weaving and the parameters which affect these properties were researched in this paper. The tests were performed on the woven fabric samples having the same warp yarn count and warp density but different weft density, weft yarn fiber fineness/count and weave pattern. The results showed that changes in the constructional properties of fabrics affected the surface properties of yarns in fabric structure and caused yarn reflectances to change. The reflectance behavior of warp yarns in fabric structure changed more than that of weft yarns after weaving. These changes were attributed to the crimp of the yarns which formed according to their density and positioning in fabric structure. Crimps of the yarns in fabric structure could be considered as an additional parameter in the research which is made between constructional parameters and fabric reflectances.
