Abstract
In this study the application areas and principles of the Small punch test which is a miniaturized testing technique is described and the creep behaviour of the individual zones of the Heat Affected Zone of a P91 steel is determined which is not possible by standard uniaxial creep tests due to the insufficient material for sampling. The distinct creep properties were distinguished viz. fine grained part of the Heat Affected Zone showing inferior creep strength compared to the coarse grained Heat Affected Zone and base metal.
