Abstract :
Painting is one of the sources of the veterinary history, which is used for explaining the period since the invention of writing until the information age. Paintings drawn without any artistic concern are viewed as documents reflecting its own period. Orientalism in the paintings is the depiction that a Western painter displays the image of the East and the Eastern people in his head from his own point of view. In his paintings, Osman Hamdi has a very different style in terms of the way of his choosing and processing these themes. Putting his academic art education before his personal point of view, Osman Hamdi presents artistic and documentary aspects in his works created by using photographs and reflecting documentary features of the photographs. In the art of painting, which should be a close follower of the nature according to him, he imaged certain details on his paintings such diligently that he made us recognize our environment. In the study, it has been aimed to evaluate human – animal relationship in the history of veterinary medicine, introduced in the works of Osman Hamdi Bey in the light of the images from daily life.
