Abstract
Social Studies course has an aim of students’ gaining basic knowledge, skills and values in democratic society as effective citizens. There are a lot of factors affecting students’ achievements in social studies course. The aim of this research is determination of the negative factors affecting 6th and 7th grade students’ social studies achievement by teachers.This study is based on qualitative research model and sampling is determined according to typical situation sample methods. The data reached by using semi-structured interview form from 35 social studies teachers in Sakarya is reported according to descriptive analysis procedure.
