Abstract :
In this study, the impact of the domain education courses in the classroom teacher undergraduate program on teacher efficacies of elementary teacher candidates. The study group of the research consisted of a total of 73 teacher candidates who attended the second year of the program in2009-2010 and the third year in 2010-2011 academic years. In the research, in order to collect data, the “Teacher Efficacy Scale” developed by Gibson and Dembo (1984) and adapted to Turkish by Diken (2004) was employed. In the research, it was concluded that taking and successfully completing domain education courses in the elementary teacher undergraduate program increases candidates’ teacher efficacy beliefs. Moreover, it was found that establishing efficacy related to these courses also creates significant differences in candidates’ self-efficacies in the teaching process and their perceptions about other factors outside the teaching process that influence student success.
