Abstract :
This study was conducted to determine the effect of the traffic education activity, which was developed in accordance with the Value Clarification and Value Analysis approach, on the attitudes of 4th grade primary school students towards traffic rules. Pre-test post-test control group experimental research design was used in the research. The experimental group consisted of 28 students, and the control group consisted of 26 students. In the study, the Traffic Rules Attitude Scale developed by the researcher was employed as the data collection tool. This scale was applied to each group simultaneously at the beginning and end of the experimental study process. In the analysis of the obtained data, independent samples T-Test was utilized, and .05 confidence level was adopted as the level of significance. As the result of the analysis, the t value was found as 12,018 [t (52) = 12,018, p .05] according to the final results of the experimental and control group. This result shows that there is a significant difference in favour of the experiment group. Accordingly, the activity developed in accordance with the approaches in values education has shown a positive effect on students attitudes toward traffic rules.
