Abstract :
This is a qualitative research investigating the views of kindergarten teachers regarding planning creative activities. The participants are four kindergarten teachers who teach in an elementary school in Buca, Izmir during 2009-2010 Spring semester. Two of the teachers are the graduates of a four year program, and the other two are the graduates of a two year program. An interview form with open ended questions was used in order to scrutinize the views of the kindergarten teachers regarding planning creative activities. The data was deciphered through content analysis. The conformity percentage was found 85 % between the two codings to ensure reliability. The data showed the views of kindergarten teachers regarding planning creative activities were categorized under objectives, teaching-learning and assessment activities. The data also showed that the content of planning creative activities were similar to the ones in the literature. However, when teachers’ views on creative activity planning, it was found that they all have inadequate knowledge.
