Abstract :

The aim of this study is to display the wiev of teachers, school principals and educational supervisors about the participation of teachers in decision making process in primary school. In this survey, the view of 74 educationalist who consists of teachers, school principals and educational supervisors who works in Burdur/Turkey in 2009 – 2010 academic years, was taken into consideration. Three different interview forms which consists of semi-structured and open ended questions were prepared to gather information for the survey and face to face interviews were done with teachers, school principals and educational supervisors to reveal the participation of teachers to the process of decision in primary school. The data was analysed with content analysis method. More than half of the teacher and most of the school principals who took part in survey emphasized that teachers take part in decision making process, but the educational supervisors tell that teachers sometimes take part in this process, not always. All of these educationalist think if the teachers take part in decision making process, the applicability of this decision will get easier, new ideas can be produced and the school will have a more peaceful atmosphere.
