The Effect of Teaching Questionning Skills Curriculum Applied to Preschool Education Teachers on Cognitive Taxonomy of Teachers’ Questions

Abstract :
The aim of this research is to identify the cognitive taxonomy of the questions asked by preschool teachers and to develop the questionning skills of preschool teachers by teaching. In this research, we used case study, a kind of qualitative research technique. The preschools were determined according to easily accessible case sampling method, which is a kind of intentional sampling methods. In 5-aged group, 2 teachers were determined as attandants according to measure sampling in easily accessible case sampling. In the application of the research, teachers activities for a day were recorded and preobserved in order to identify how questions they asked. Then, in order to develop teachers’ questionning skills, “Teaching Asking Questions Skill Programme” was conducted 12 hours and a week. After teaching, post observation was applied. Descriptive analysis took place to identify sample case. Graphics and chi-square tables was given to identify the effect of teaching. In the results of the research, we concluded that before the application of programme, teachers generally asked knowledge questions and they did not asked evaluation questions. However, after the application of the programme, teachers asked more questions on the level of analysis, synthesis and evaluation.
