Using Harmonic Arrangement Techniques in Violin Education
Abstract :
This research aims to determine the effects of musical gains through polyphonic arrangement techniques in violin education. Subjects of the study gathered from eighteen students from the İstanbul University State Conservatory, Mimar Sinan Fine Artrs University State Conservatory and Mersin University State Conservatory who are studying the violin education in 2012-2013 academic year. In research; experimental-control, pretest-posttest group semi-experimental design was used. While polyphonic arrangement techniques violin training was applied in experiment group (n= 9), the control group (n= 9) used the classic violin training techniques. The data were collected through Zdzinski ve Barnes’s (2002) The String Performance Rating Scale. The findings of the study demonstrate that violin students studying with polyphonic arrangement techniques, compared to the conventional methods, are to be more effective in winning musical achievements.
