Abstract :
The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between the ethical leadership of primary and secondary school principals and organizational citizenship behaviors of teachers. A study group of research that used screening model generated 693 teachers working at public primary and secondary schools in Bandırma and Erdek which are the districts of the city of Balıkesir in 2014- 2015 academic years. “Ethical Leadership Scale” developed by Yılmaz and “Organizational Citizenship Behavior Scale” developed by Basım and Şeşen were applied to the participants. SPSS 21.0 programme was used to find out the results of the datas. Results were given as in the groups of frequency, percentage, arithmetic average and the dispersion of the standard declination on the charts. In reaching these subaims, “t-test” and “ANOVA” are performed, and whenever there is differentiation among the groups, “Tukey Post Hoc” test is performed in order to determine from which group this differentiation stems from. In addition, Correlation Analysis is performed in determining the relationship between the ethical leadership of principals and organizational citizenship behaviors of teachers in the survey. When results of the research are examined, it is seen that the average ethical leadership behavior of principals and organizational citizenship behaviors of the teachers conducted are high. As a result of the examination of the relationship between the ethical leadership levels and the organizational citizenship levels with correlation analysis, a meaningful relationship between general ethical leadership and generalorganizational citizenship has emerged. Accordingly, the level of general ethical leadership behavior of principals increases the level of organizational citizenship behavior of teachers.
