Career Desicion Regret Scale: Adaptation, Validity And Reliability Study

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to adapt Career Decision Regret Scale into Turkish Form and to examine the validity and reliability of the Decision Regret Scale (Brehaut et al., 2003). The sample of study is consisted of 410 students from different departments of Cukurova University. According to confirmatory factor analysis used by SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 22.0, it is evaluated that the model consisting of one dimension with 5 items, has high compliance values (x^2=10.180, Df=4, x^2/df=2.545, RMSEA=.06, IFI=.99, AGFI=.96, GFI=.99, CFI=.99, SRMR=.013). The factor loadings of the scale range from .75 and .85. According to the exploratory factor analysis result, it explained .74 of the scale variance consisting of one dimension. Cronbach’s Alpha internal consistency reliability coefficient of the scale was found as .91. To find out retest realibility, the scale was applied to 63 university students in three weeks intervals and and was calculated as .79 through Pearson correlation.The result indicates that adapted Career Decision Regret Scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool in measuring career decision regret of the university students in Turkey.
