EFFECT OF DIFFERENT TYPE OF CEMENTS CARBONATION IN CONCRETE
Abstract :
In this study, the effects of different types of concrete carbonation have been studied extensively. Five different cement-type is used for this purpose. The mechanical and physical properties such as unit weight, compressive strength, ultrasonic pulse velocity and carbonation depths of the prepared samples were determined. In order to determine the carbonation depth; after the standard curing period which is 28 days, prepared concrete series were subjected to accelerated carbonation test for the 1, 3, and 7-day time period. As a result of the experiments it has been determined that carbonation exposure values of the series of different types of concrete vary according to different time slots. At the same time, with increase in number of days it was observed that the carbonation depth would be reach a maximum value.
