Abstract :
In this study, the effects of industrial iron chip wastes on concrete pressure strength and surface hardness were investigated experimentally. For this purpose, deponent concrete samples (pure concrete or additive free concrete) which provide concrete strength properties of C25 and C30 according to TS 802 and three experiment groups consisting of iron chip wastes were formed. Experiment samples with iron chip wastes were prepared by reducing the aggregate weight, in the range of 0-2 mm, of deponent concretes with the rate of 50% and by replacing it with waste iron chip. 24 experiment samples in shape of cubes (15x15x15cm), after 7 and 28 days, were subjected to pressure strength experiments according to TS EN 12390–3 and subjected to surface hardness experiments according DIN 1048. As a result of the experiments, it was found that surface hardness and pressure strengths of the samples having 50% iron chip is greater than deponent concretes.
