Abstract :
In this study, compression strength growing of the lightweight concrete produced with pumice material and colemanit addition, investigated by experimentally. In concrete mixture, pumice from Ercis-Kocapinar region is used as fine and coarse aggregate. Granulated colemanite material from “Eti Maden İşletmeleri Emet Bor İşletme Müdürlüğü” is used by replacing cement as the ratio of 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1 and 2%. The concrete mixture filled in 10 cm cubical mould, and 24 hours later, cured in the water of 20°C during 28 and 56 days. Specimens which completed their cures, were subjected to 400, 600 and 800°C elevated temperature and identified their weights, before and after elevated temperature application. In case of elevated temperature application on concrete, it has witnessed that there is a decrease in compression strength and weight.
