    Hybrid Renewable Energy System Feasibility For A Public Building

  • Abstract
    Today, determining the feasibility of a building s electricity energy with renewable energy sources is a hot field of study. In this study, a feasibility study was conducted in order to meet the electricity needs of solar and wind renewable energy resources of Kozlu Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School (Kozlu EML) which is a public building. Firstly, annual electricity energy expenses, maximum and minimum electricity energy spent months and annual average energy expenditure of the selected public building were calculated. Afterwards, analyses were carried out to establish a renewable energy source system connected to the wind and solar hybrid grid. HOMER program was used for detailed calculations. As a result of the analyses, it has been determined that the hybrid renewable energy system with 36 kW wind turbine and 23 kW solar panel grid can meet the electrical energy demand of Kozlu EML. In this case, it was determined that while some of the electricity energy was purchased from the network in December, it could supply electricity to the grid in other months. As a result, it was determined that the installed system would pay off itself after 7.8 years.
